About MNBS Trust

MNBS Trust – Moodlakatte Nagarathna Bhujanga Shetty Trust ®, Moodlakatte was formed in the year 1995 under the leadership of late I M Jayaram Shetty. Mr. Jayaram Shetty was a successful entrepreneur and a politician, who represented the Byndoor and Udupi constituencies once as a Member of Legislative Assembly and then as a Member of Lok Sabha (MP). He was an astute philanthropist, deeply committed to addressing the societal challenges faced by common people.

Mission

The key purpose of forming the trust was to promote education, social, and cultural activities in rural areas of our country. Since its inception, the trust has made significant contributions in the area of education and continues to work towards creating opportunities for the local populace to lead fulfilling lives.

Education Initiatives

Education is the cornerstone of our efforts. We aim to establish good schools, colleges, technical institutions, and post-graduate centers to become a complete education hub, serving the needs of the region, state, and nation. Our commitment to education extends from pre-school to post-graduate levels, ensuring that every young mind has the opportunity to thrive.

Skill Development

We emphasize guiding the youth towards acquiring market-relevant skills and fostering social skills essential for success in today’s world. By providing the right training and support, we empower rural young men and women for employment or entrepreneurial ventures, thus contributing to the growth and development of our communities.

Socio-Economic Engagement

MNBS Trust is actively engaged in socio-economic activities within surrounding villages, coordinating academic research and entrepreneurial endeavors involving local youth. In 2004, the trust established Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, providing technical education to rural and needy students. Thousands have benefited from this initiative, with local communities also experiencing job opportunities. We continuously work towards enhancing the standard of living by promoting sanitation, agricultural activities, and sustainable resource utilization.

MNBS Trust Objectives​

To perform educational, social & cultural activities.

To promote the spread of Education of Vocational, Technical, Agricultural, Health and other relevant category and for this purpose establish, manage, encourage, aid, support, affiliate or incorporate schools, colleges, or such other institutions at suitable place from time to time and for the purpose promote, constitute or cause regional organization committees or sub committees wherever necessary.

To create firms and concerns helpful for practical training and benefit of students of the schools, colleges and institutions under the Trust.

To establish adult schools and colleges for promoting literacy among adults and night school and colleges to enable youngsters to learn while they earn/learn multiple life skills.

To provide hostels for students and grant concessions, scholarships, free-ship and other facilities and incentives for poor and deserving students.

Message from the Director of Technology Incubator Centre at MIT Kundapura

It is giving me immense pleasure to write about the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at MITK. With the introduction of Startup India, Standup India and various government schemes, the entrepreneurial environment in the country has become more conducive and favourable to budding entrepreneurs. And to uplift this spirit, the TBI here at MIT Kundapura plays a great role.

TBI is a vibrant place for entrepreneurs, innovators and next-generation thinkers, who are ready to take up challenging problems in society and transform their Ideas around it into viable solutions in terms of products and services, thereby creating jobs and livelihood for people along with following their passion for entrepreneurship.

As a Technology Business Incubator, we have some of the best facilities in the Karavali region to host startups from various Industrial domains such as Tech, Fintech, Agritech, IT, Mechatronics, etc. and mentor and nurture them. we have high-end computing facilities, modern workspace, Library & information centre, 3D printers and other necessary equipment and facilities, training and conference facilities, etc. to name a few. TBI conducts various entrepreneurial sessions, seminars and conferences for startups. It also connects the right industrial mentors which best suited for the budding startups and call for various funding meetups & rounds and pitch deck presentations for getting financial support from government and private investors.

TBI is open to anyone who envisaged transforming the world, by bringing about significant changes in the world through entrepreneurship. I heartily welcome all those who aspire to become next-generation entrepreneurs and want to shape their ideas into products in the country, to pay a visit to our incubation centre and join and become part of the TBI family.
