Library & Information Centre

Libraries are providing knowledge source. The MITK library has a fully computerized central library, well equipped for use of academic fraternity and providing information to its seekers.

MITK library has capacity of 3000 title and 13000 volumes. The library collaborated with 52 national and 22 international journal publishers, with digital version. The library is also maintaining a good collection of CD’s. Library has subscribed E- Books and E- Journals on engineering and management. The college has been enlisted in the DELNET, and taken the membership of INDEST – AICTE consortium and VTU Consortium for the subscription of online resources.

Library has a separate reading hall, separate group study section, and newspapers, periodical sections and book bank facility etc.

Library is open from 8-30 am to 8 pm which is extended up to 10 pm during VTU examination session.

Transportation

MITK has a fleet of 5 luxurious buses for transport of students from their respective places. The transport facility is available to students, faculty and staff residing in/round the radius of 50 KM of the college campus. Apart from local towns near Kundapur, Busses also ply the students from far off places such as, Manipal, Bhatkal, Siddapur, Halady and other small towns on the coastal areas, Western Ghats belt, helping the rural youth to reach the college and realize their dreams of becoming engineers.

Hostel for Boys & Girls

MITK has elegantly built separate secured hostels for both boys and girls where students are certain to feel at home. Currently, we are providing furnished rooms and a spacious dining space for all the hostel residing students.

The food served for our students is of great quality, nutritious meals, and snacks. Our chefs use student surveys and feedback to create a tasty menu that is inclusive of different dietary needs.

Facilities provided at the hostel

Fully furnishes rooms for single / double / triple occupancy.
Separate blocks of hostels are available for boys and girls.
Attached / common bath rooms with hot water facility using solar as well as electric geysers in every room.
Spacious dining hall with complete facility for dining.
A modern, hygienic kitchen with experienced cooks provides good quality, nutritious food for breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner.
Facilities are made available for students for recreation. Large LED TV with cable connections, newspapers and magazines, Indoor and outdoor playing facilities, and gym for physical fitness development help students make their stay happy and comfortable at the hostels.
College has built an in house RO drinking water plant to the hostels ensuring healthy and hygienic drinking water.
For the vising guests and parents who wish to visit their wards in the hostel, separateguest rooms are available.

Sports & Games

Sports & games plays an important role in shaping an individual’s personality along with maintaining his / her health and physical fitness. “Sound mind in stound body” is the motto our Institute believes in. As yoga & meditation gives inner mental strength, physical fitness through various sports and games enables every individual achieve extra ordinary success in life.

Sports and games also nurtures competitive spirit, channelizing their energy to evolve as a team and acquire leadership qualities. MITK lays importance on students’ participation in games and sports too along with academics and lays equal emphasis on both.

Adequate facilities are available for sports and games and for extracurricular activities. MIT-Kundapura has been very active in promoting sports and Games activities and inculcating healthy sportsman spirit among the students. Students have brought laurels by winning in several sports events in inter-college competitions and many best players were selected for University team too.

MITK has vast open play ground best suited for Track and Field events with Football and Cricket facilities too. Two clay courts for Volley ball with channeling and fencing is available along with an indoor badminton court and a table tennis room.

Facilities for Yoga & Meditation classes are made available to the students from visiting yoga professionals periodically, to engage them in spiritual pursuits to complement their academic studies.

Faculty members in Physical Education provide coaching and training to all the students and external coaches are available for scientific teaching, training and coaching in various games and sports and physical fitness programs.
