MIT Kundapura is located in the midst of pristine farmlands of Moodlakatte; a small village located about 6 km from the Kundapura town. The town Kundapura has an interesting history. The name Kundapura can be traced to the Kundeshwara Temple built by Kundavarma in the vicinity of the Panchagangavalli River. The name of the town may be derived from Kundavarma who ruled the area.
