Preamble:
MIT gives prominence and emphasis on maintaining a ragging-free campus. Anti-Ragging Committee is a statutory committee constituted with Principal as Chairman, Vice Principal, Dean-Student Welfare, senior faculty members, student representatives, local Police Official as members. The committee is responsible for anti-ragging policy formulation, alignment, and implementation; creating awareness, monitoring ragging activities through squads, responding and taking action in case of any ragging activities.
Objectives:
1. To make the college campus a ragging free campus and support the student community.
2. To create awareness activities and programmes among the students on the seriousness and consequences if they get involved in ragging
3. To be vigilant and closely observe our students against involving in any form of ragging on the campus and hostel premises
4. To take strict and stringent action if any act of ragging is observed
Policy:
Our Policy stems on the fact that “RAGGING IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE”. As per the orders of the Supreme Court of India, Government of India, UGC, AICTE, Government of Karnataka and VTU, ragging is a cognizable criminal offence punishable with non-bailable imprisonment and holds the Principal responsible for making the College ragging-free. Students should not indulge in ragging or support ragging directly or indirectly in whatsoever manner. Severe action will be initiated against those indulging in ragging or supporting ragging.
“Ragging” means causing, inducing, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of a practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human dignity or violates his person or exposes him to ridicule or to forbear from doing any lawful act, by intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining or injuring him or by using criminal force to him or by holding out to him any threat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal offence.
Students are severely warned that: Ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited by law inside the campus and outside. The offence of ragging is punishable under sections 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 302, 305, 306, 339, 340, 341, 342, 343, 344, 346, 347, 354, 359, 368, 448, 451 and 506 of Indian penal code (IPC) and section 116 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983. The offenders will be liable for one or all of the following punitive actions:
• Photographs of offenders will not only be displayed on the notice board, but also published in newspapers.
• Offenders cannot appear for university examinations.
• Names of offenders will be sent to VTU, which will record the fact in the marks card.
• Offenders will be dismissed from the College and the hostel, and reported to the police.
There are no such things as friendly ragging or mild ragging. All forms of ragging are de-humanizing and go against the core of the value system which our students must develop. The College will take serious actions against those involved in ragging or supporting ragging.

Preamble:
The Constitution of the country, promulgated in 1950, recognizes the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes as the two most backward groups in Indian society needing special protection. India, a country of diversity, a mix of different religions, castes and cultures is characterized by a highly-entrenched system of social stratification. Also, we try to sort out their problems related to academics, personal and social life. Also, we create awareness and assist to avail scholarships.
Objectives:
1. Be an entity that disseminates information related to SC/ST reservation, implemented in the institute as per Indian Government Policy.
2.Provide a platform for registering complaints, issues / grievances of SC/ST candidates.
3.To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in the University and plan measures for effective implementation of the policy and programme of the Government and UGC.
4. To guide the SC/ST students of the University, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Government, Government of India (GOI) and UGC
5. To provide them discriminative free campus and help them to excel in academics and placements.
