IMJIR Research Institute Inaugurated in Moodlakatte; National Summit ‘Q-PIER 2026’ Commences Marking a significant milestone in the fields of technical education and research, the IMJ Institute of Research (IMJIR) was grandly inaugurated at the IMJ Institutions campus in Moodlakatte. To commemorate this historic occasion, a two-day National Summit titled Quantum Computation, Precision Instrumentation & Emerging Research Infrastructures” (Q-PIER 2026) was organized, drawing experts from across the country. Inaugurating the event, Prof. M. Krishnamurthy, Director of TIFR Hyderabad, highlighted the growing importance of Quantum Computation. He emphasized its revolutionary role in the current global innovation landscape and lauded the establishment of such a high-level research facility in Moodlakatte, calling it a commendable initiative. Keynote speaker Prof. Saptarishi Chaudhuri elaborated on the National Quantum Mission (NQM). He provided a comprehensive overview of India’s current quantum computing ecosystem and praised the specialized Quantum Computer Research Center established IMJ Institutions. Guest of Honor, Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy, Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University, advocated for a paradigm shift in the education system. “Examinations should transition from testing mere memory to assessing the application of knowledge,” he stated. He also expressed deep concern regarding the collective responsibility of society and institutions toward the education and research of talented yet underprivileged students. Presiding over the function, Mr. Siddhartha J. Shetty, Chairman of IMJ Institutions, expressed immense pride in the establishment of the research center as a new landmark for the group. He urged students to utilize these state-of-the-art facilities for their academic and professional growth. On this occasion, renowned atomic physicist Dr. Pushpaa M. Rao was felicitated for her contributions to the field. *Dr. Satyajit, Director of IMJIR, outlined the goals and vision of the research center. The gathering was welcomed by **Dr. S.N. Bhat, Academic Director, of IMJ Institutions and the vote of thanks was proposed by **Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, Brand Building Director. *Dr. Nikhila Pai mastered the ceremony. The newly inaugurated IMJIR aims to provide unparalleled opportunities for students and researchers in quantum technology and advanced sciences. The summit, scheduled for April 13th and 14th, aligns with the institution’s motto: “Rural Roots, Global Reach” (Nela Moola, Jaga Dagala). The event was attended by members of the management, faculty, and students.
