Foreword from the Head
Prof. Deepak Shetty
Head, Basic Science & Humanities
I, Prof. Deepak Shetty started my career in teaching in 1988. Presently I have nearly 28 years of rich teaching experience in variety of Institutions, with Variety of students & Variety of faculties which has given me presently immense knowledge in the education field my career spreads with teaching in Pre-Degree, Universities (UG & PG) and now presently in technical field. I have also authored books for my students in diverse fields of mathematics.
I expect lot of discipline from students which is very much necessary for a successful Engineer. What ever achievement we achieve will be a waste if there is lack of discipline. Also the students must have a goal and they should focus day and night on achieving this goal. I expect from each of students to do a lot of hard work that is burn their mid night oil to shape their career. I wish my students All the best and I am always free to council my students in which ever context they feel necessary.
In our department (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Physical Education) we have a bunch of Enthusiastic, Dynamic, Experienced and Expertized Teaching faculties who are masters in their own fields. I feel that for a teacher, every day is a day to learn. Each and every incident in their experience makes them grow. Provided the faculty takes it positively. Also in a professional field, the faculty should have in his mind that he will grow along with his students and in turn the Institute will grow along with the faculty. We see that there is a chain formed. To maintain this chain in a strong way lot of hard work, sacrifice, self motivation are required from each and every individual faculty.
In our department we take care of each and every individual students so that he/she excels in his/her field of expertize and also the learning objectives of Visvesvaraya Technological University Attains. We Try our level best in all possible way to improve the result in academics. We also give opportunities for the individual students in Co-Curricular activities. Hence, When a student enters his/her professional department, we see to it that there is an all round Development in them. This is very much necessary in the present day scenario.
Finaly, I wish a happy Journey and all the best for each and every one in this field of Education, at Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura.
Engineering mathematics is a tool for engineering students in order to master the skill in their respective domains. Proper understanding of this subject improves the memory, analyzing capacities and discipline of the students. It is a indispensable tool for students who want to be a professional in engineering field. Irrespective of his/her branch.
The department of physics at mitk, is highly focused on imparting quality education to meet the global challenges of science and technology. The department of physics plays a vital role in laying the strongest foundation so that the students are well equipped to stand up to higher education. The department consists of highly experienced, talented and dedicated faculty members of whom many are doctorates and few are pursuing their phd from reputed universities.
The faculty members in the department have published more than 20 reserch papers in various national/ international journals and over 50 papers in different conferences. The department has the credence of attaining success rate of 90% and above in each semester consistently.
Chemistry is a bridge that connects the pure science with engineering practices. The more chemistry an engineer understands the more beneficial it is. The field of chemical engineering offers unique opportunity to make a real differences by applying the principles of chemistry to solve problems that involves the use of chemicals, fuel, drugs and food products. They will have the opportunity to design the process and equipment for large scale manufacturing, planning , testing production methods and byproduct treatment.
In the present scenario for non-native English users, English is very important because it is widely spoken all around the world. Knowing English allows people to enjoy their life and work no matter where they are. Most of the scientific papers or journals in the world are written in English. For an engineer and an engineering student, English language fluency is important both in studies and career. To be successful in this field one need to know and understand and to communicate effectively in English. In placement it is very necessary, students can excel in interviews if they have a command over the language. To understand the subject better, for reference material, to work abroad to co-ordinate various skills, to extract work in almost all fields it is very much necessary.
