MIT Science Talent Search 2017

Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapura, Organized one day MIT Science Talent Search -2017, a Set of Competitions on Science and technology for Pre-Degree students.

The Chief Guest Mr. Vikas Hegde, Advocate and President of Kundapura Town Development Authority addressed and motivated the gathering. In his inaugural speech he said, “ Engineers have more responsibility in building our nation. So, Engineering students must be sharpen up and guided towards good ways.” The Guest of Honour, Prof. Nagesh Shanbhag, Principal, Venkataramana PU College, appreciated the event and it’s aim. He added that the talent search competition is helpful to showcase the talents and skills of the students towards the Innovation. Chairman, MITKundapura, in his presidential remark said that Management will support the hard work and enthusiasm of the students for their betterment of the future.

From about 25 colleges, more than 500 students participated in the competitions. Three major events were organized QUIZ, PROJECT EXHIBITION and ESSAY WRITING. All the participants involved with great enthusiasm and gave a great support in making the event a grand success.

The valedictory was held in the evening and prizes were distributed. The winners took away cash prizes and excellence certificates in major competitions.

The Master of Ceremony was handled by Prof. Dhanya Shenoy and Dr. Kataiah presented the vote of thanks.


Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapura (MITK)), organized its Tenth Graduation Day ceremony at the institute premises on 23rd October 2017. The function commenced with an academic procession walking into the auditorium, with the conventional tune played at the background

Prof. M.S. Shetty, who is considered as the Father figure of Concrete Technology in India has been the Chief Guest of the function. In his address to the graduates, Prof. M.S. Shetty said that Engineers are highly involved in the development of the nation and fresh graduating engineers have to work in the spirit of patriotic dedication. He told that the earlier career path may not be a bed of roses so they have to be prepared for self sacrificing hard work in the service of nation. He advised young engineers to be prepared to handle a hard life and to sacrifice for the greater good. He called upon the fresh graduates to be progressive and to be the part of the transition of India into Super Power as the country needs the young Engineers. He further said that there are innumerable Chances to develop themselves and the country needs them. With this quality of Young Engineers, we can be confident of “Acche Din Zaroor Ayenge”. He ended his speech by a Kannada Poem “Kannadanulidenage Anya Jeevanavilla….Bharathada Sanmana Enagadhuve Varamana”and called upon the Young Engineers to always keep their Country First.

Dr.G.P. Shetty Guest of Honour in his address asked the students to be honest and not to wait for the best opportunities, instead grab the opportunities as they come and work very hard to achieve success and to be the entrepreneurs themselves.  He urged the Students to work hard to develop their skills and should consistently work with sincerity, which is the key to success. Chairman Siddarth Shetty declared the Graduation day open and later in his presidential address, congratulated the graduates on becoming professionals and urged them to do justice to their profession. Principal Dr. Kataiah G.S. administered the institutional oath to the graduates and in his address said that the fresh graduates to be independent, responsible and to put more effort to survive in this competition world

Graduates who passed out during the academic year 2016 -17 received their graduation certificates from the chief guest, Prof.M.S. Shetty and Guest of Honour Dr.G.P. Shetty. Gold and Silver medals to the branch toppers were presented. Heads of the Departments, Teaching and Non-Teaching faculty of MITK were present. The event was hosted by Ms. Rolita and Mr. Rihan. Ms. Poornima welcomed the gathering and Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Dhanashree. End of Graduation day was declared by the President of the event followed by National Anthem and Photo Session.

Radiant inauguration & Technical talk on GST

Inauguration ceremony of activities under the forum Radiant for the academic year 2017-18 was organised by MBA department on 4th October 2017. The program was inaugurated by lightening the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Narayan Shetty, Principal, Bhandarkars Arts and Science College, Kundapura and was concluded by national anthem. Miss. Archana Shetty welcomed the gathering, Miss. Ranjitha introduced the chief guest, Miss. Smitha gave vote of thanks and Miss. Poornima took over the master of ceremony.

A technical talk was arranged on 4th October 2017 at 12:30 PM in Seminar hall. The topic was “Goods & Service Tax (GST)” by Dr. Narayan Shetty, Principal, Bhandarkars Arts and Science College, Kundapura. GST may have a possible implications on either parties ie. the Seller and the Consumer, still it is a debatable topic. Technical talk was focused on cascading effect of taxes.

Freshers function is all about making the best start to the new academic year. A time to create everlasting relationship with each other. MBA department organised freshers welcome function for the batch of 2017-18. The function was organised in seminar hall of the college on 4th October 2017. It was fun filled event at which the freshers got an opportunity not only to showcase their talent but also to interact with the seniors.

Mechanical Department forum “INCEPTIVE 2017-2018”

It was held on September 22nd 2017, in the seminar hall. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Thirumaleshwer Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, Bantakal. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, H.O.D Prof Jayaram rao, Principal Dr. Kataiah, Event co-ordinator, Assistent Professor Mr. Prashanta and Mr. Vishalkumar, student president by lighting the lamp. The chief guest addressed the gathering and motivated students to take part actively in the departmental events and advised to show interests in Entrepreneurship. Mr.Mohammed Ridhan, student delivered the guest introduction. Mr. Manoj Y R, Student delivered master of ceremony, Mr Satish, student welcome the gathering, Mr. Sanath Shetty, student presented the vote of thanks. All faculties and students of Mechanical dept. participated in the forum inauguration.

Two Days Workshop on Digital Image Processing

Computer Science Department of MITK, a premier Institute in Udupi district has organized a two day workshop on Digital image processing & its applications. The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest & resource person Prof.Harivinod N, VCET Puttur. In his keynote address he emphasized the role of technology plays in the daily life and the opportunity it gives us to learn the new technologies.

Principal of the Institute, Dr. Kataiah, in his presidential speech added that students should fully utilize all the workshops organized by the department and they should be familiar with recent technologies emerging in the digital era. Prof. Melwin D’Souza, HOD Dept. of CSE was present on this occasion. Prof. Dhanya Shenoy welcomed the guests and took over the master of ceremony.

Teachers Day and CV Raman Club Inauguration

The celebration of TEACHERS DAY and THE INNAUGURATION OF C V RAMAN CLUB were held in our college, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura on 08 september 2017. On this occasion a talk on AMAZING NATURE LESSON TO LEARN was rendered by the Chief Guest Dr. HARISH R BHAT, Research Scientist, I.I.Sc Bangalore. Also he gave a call to ‘see around our nature and find the beautiful concepts and implement them to improve our technologies’ to the studying engineering youths.

The programme was Inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief guest and was concluded by singing the national anthem. Ms. Joycelita welcomed the gathering, Mr Amogha, Asst. Professor in Physics Introduced the Chief Guest, Ms.Shwetha Naik gave the vote of thanks and Ms. Varsha Miragi took over the Master of Ceremony.

TRICS Inauguration & Technical Talk

Inaugural Ceremony of activities under the forum TRICS for the academic year 2017-18 & Technical Talk on "Machine Learning & its Applications" by Muralikrishna S N, Senior Assistant Professor, MIT Manipal is Scheduled on Tuesday 5th September 2017 at Seminar Hall.


The celebration of SADBHAVANA DIWAS was held in our college, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura on 20th August 2017. On this occasion the Chief Guest Dr. Rajendra S Nayak, gave a call to ‘Unite and build a beautiful Nation’ to the youths . The Physical Education Director Mr. Ramesh M took over the Oath taking ceremony and The Head of the Institute, The Principal gave the presidential remark for the youths gathered.

The programme was Inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief guest and was concluded by singing the national anthem. Ms. Rajatha Acharya welcomed the gathering, Ms. Fathima Razeena Introduced the Chief Guest, Mr.Rahul G Mesta gave the vote of thanks and Mr. Vighnesh Shetty took over the Master of Ceremony.


The 70th INDEPENDENCE DAY was celebrated in our college, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura on 15th August 2017. The Principal Dr. Kataiah Hoisted the National Flag and gave a speech on the people who sacrificed for our country for the Independence. The programme was concluded by singing the national anthem.
